Auto dealers expect positive sales on strong enquiry pipelines, improving rural economic indicators: FADA
New Delhi: India’s auto retail sales over the next three months remain firmly positive, supported by sustained momentum from GST 2.0 tax rationalisation, strong enquiry pipelines, and improving rural economic indicators as 74 per cent of dealers expect growth, underscoring broad-based confidence across segments, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) said on Monday.
Tata Electronics, Intel sign MoU to explore chip making, packaging in India

Fuel demand hits 6-month high in Nov
India’s demand for refined petroleum products (auto fuels) hit a six-month high of 21.27 million tonnes in November, data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell showed. The demand grew 5.4% from 20.16 million tonnes in October. On an annual basis, the country’s fuel consumption grew by 3%.

Vida scooter sales cross 1 lakh units for the first time in a year
For the first time since entering the electric two-wheeler market over three years ago, Hero MotorCorp’s Vida brand has sold 1 lakh units in a calendar year. As per the latest retail sales numbers on the Vahan portal, between January 1 and December 5, a total of 1,00,383 Vida e-scooters were delivered to customers. Additionally, cumulative sales of Vida e-scooters have crossed 1.50 lakh units since the brand’s launch in October 2022.
BMW X3 to get more powerful petrol engine in India in 2026
BMW India is working to bring a more powerful version of the X3 petrol to India. Currently, the X3 is available in xDrive20 form with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 190hp, a figure significantly lower than what rival petrol SUVs offer. For reference, the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300’s 2.0-litre petrol engine makes 258hp, while the 2.0-litre petrol units on the Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60 are good for 250hp. The X3 petrol’s humdrum performance is something we had highlighted when we compared it with the Mercedes GLC 300.
